Empowering Early Childhood Educators

University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka - The Centre for Gender Studies recently hosted a vital training program for daycare and preschool teachers, equipping them with crucial knowledge about child psychology. This insightful session, held on January 23, 2023, aimed to enhance the understanding and skills of early childhood educators, ultimately leading to a more nurturing and supportive environment for young learners.

Rev. Ethkandawaka Saddajeewa, a renowned psychiatrist based in the USA, served as the resource person, sharing his expertise and insights on the unique psychological needs of young children. The training session explored key aspects of child development, including emotional regulation, social interaction, and learning styles, empowering participants to better understand and respond to the diverse needs of children in their care.
